“anyone who has ever gone to 16th St Mall in Denver should know exactly who this man is”
I hate this guy, he told me I look like Snooki :(

303 Magazine PrideFest Special Edition Release Party + Fashion Show
Two weekends ago I went to the 1st annual Denver Fashion Weekend put on by 303 Magazine—it was a blast! You don’t normally see that kind of high fashion, catwalk situation in Denver. As soon as I saw the invite for this, I accepted because I’m guessing it’s going to be super cool as well. 21+

Tips:
-You can choose general admission or to have assigned seats for about double the price. Show up early and you can get a GA table and not have to spend the extra dough. I mean, the actual fashion show is only about 20 minutes.
-Dress to impress! Everyone is stylish and you can maybe even get your picture in the magazine ;)
Where: Exdo Event Center
Price: $20-$60

MUMFORD AND SONS IS COMING TO DENVER THIS SUMMER!
no joke.
-
Let’s play ball…
Ahh yes, it’s that season again. Time to kick back, relax, and watch some baseball. Sun, beers, and great views of Denver. I can’t imagine wanting to be anywhere else on a weekend. The best part: we actually have an awesome team—the Rockies are expected to do great this season. Go catch a home game next weekend Friday through Sunday versus the Cubs!
Tips: Get Rockpile seats! They’re only $4 and a great time.
Where: Coors Field (20th and Blake St.)Website: http://colorado.rockies.mlb.com

Sunday Disco Brunch at The Corner Office
I’ve previously written about this particular location before, but this last weekend I accidentally discovered that it is definitely the COOLEST place to be in Denver on a Sunday. The Corner Office is already an awesome restaurant, but at the end of the weekend they take things a back a few years, or forty, for “Disco Brunch.”

Not only does the restaurant feature all of the employees in 70’s gear, a DJ playing 70’s jams, and more lava lamps and disco balls than you could shake a stick at, but they have a $10/$15 bottomless Mimosa/Bloody Mary bar. I mean, what else do you need for that Saturday night hangover?
How’s the actual food though? Try the Southern style chicken and waffles or the coconut milk soaked French toast with avocado ice cream, and I’ll let you be the judge—two thumbs up from this girl.
Can you dig it?

Bonnie Brae Ice Cream Shop
Take it back old school to the ’50s ice cream parlors. I mean, this place even smells like happiness and sunshine.

The Highlights:
Award winning, best ice cream in Denver. It’s in a totally cute and quaint neighborhood as well. A great place to take the kids…or yourself.
Tips:
I’m a big fan of the bubble gum ice cream, but you can’t really go wrong here.
Where: 1575 Central Street (Highlands area)

Swanky’s Bar
Okay, so this place is a little sketch and grungy, but they are also home to a whole wall full of delicious frozen alcoholic beverages and it’s located right downtown.

The Highlights:
All of the typical bar games but the best being an old school Mrs. Pacman game! Oh and there is porn on the walls of each of the bathrooms…hmm, just thought I’d throw that out there.

Tips:
Order an Orange Creamsicle with the extra shot ($1 more.) Delicious and thus dangerous.
Where: 1938 Blake Street

Kuulture Frozen Yogurt

The Highlights:
Feel healthy while indulging yourself—there’s only 25 calories/gram! They also have dairy-free options and lots of healthy fresh fruit toppings.
Tips:
You have to get the Taro frozen yogurt—oddly enough it’s mad out of Hawaiian sweet potato, but it’s creamy and delicious! I top it off with kiwi, mango, blueberries, and strawberries.
Where: 1512 Larimer Street

Colorado Avalanche Game
Okay, so maybe it’s because we’re doing so well this season, but the Pepsi Center is definitely a place to be! There’s nothing like a hockey game to get your blood pumping.

Tips:
-You can usually get tickets pretty cheap online or from scalpers (even cheaper after the game has started.) It’s hard to find a bad seat in the Pepsi Center, even if they’re high up.
-Parking’s only $10 east of the arena, or you could always just hop on the light rail—it takes you directly in front.
-Get beers before at Brooklyns or Brauns across the way. It’ll definitely save you some bucks.
